The Wine Table is a Vellum 2015 furniture competition entry. Intended as a coffee table replacement for wine enthusiasts, The Wine Table employs a minimalist construction and material pallet: Laminated and waxed plywood strips, break formed and welded mild steel base, and natural leather trim. The base contains three slots for bottle storage as well as a compartment with shelving for stemless glasses, an ice bucket, and a miscellaneous shelf for coasters (fabricated from offcuts), bottle opener, candles, etc. The piece received a people's choice runner up award.
