Morro Bay Music Center
I developed the concept for this project based on the musical concept of folding layers of sound that are penetrated by unique events that contrast the flow of the music. The program includes a primary two way concert stage with an interior hall component and an outdoor theater component, and a cafe on the first floor. The second floor contains a secondary concert space, educational areas, and music research space as well as administrative offices. All the program is contained in the structural shear cores which also support the folding trusses in the floor plates.
